You should clean your bathroom shower head at least once every week to avoid suffering from health threatening diseases, and once every year for shower head buildup.
In most cases, you can possibly improve the water flow of your shower head by spraying equal parts of warm water and white vinegar, then scrubbing the holes with brush or your fingertips.
Run the water in your shower head for 1 minute to dislodge the residue you have loosened. Repeat the steps if needed until your shower head is completely debris free.
This is the best way to clean your shower head, and do this process once every week not only to improve the water flow but also, to kill the bacteria buildups.
In removing the buildups in your shower head, you need to be more careful and thorough. You can unscrew your show head and place it in a very large bowl.
Mix 1 cup of white vinegar and 3 cups of boiling water. Pour it over your shower head and let it soak for 5-6 hours.
When you notice that the buildups are already loosening, you can start scrubbing it with a brush. Rinse it well with hot water before installing it back again.
You can do this process once every year to maintain the free flow of water in your shower head.
